Creative Writing
• This event is broken up into 4 categories:
a. Poetry (duration: 1 hour) | 12 PM | Feb 07 | Room 903, Audi Block
b. Micro-tale (150 characters only; duration: 30 Minutes) | 1 PM | Feb 07 | Room 903, Audi Block
c. Essay (duration: 1 hour) | 1.30 PM | Feb 07 | Room 903, Audi Block
d. Short Story (duration : 1 hour) | 2.30 PM | Feb 07 | Room 903, Audi Block
• Individual event.
• Multiple entries allowed from the participating institution.
• This competition will be held only in English.
• One contestant can submit one entry.
• Topic to be given on the spot.
• Event is scheduled to happen at a particular venue and participants are expected to write their
entries at the prescribed place only.
• Short Story: A picture prompt will be given to draw inspiration from. Make the best use of the elements you see
• Poetry: Multiple prompts will be given that must be incorporated in the poem.
Dumb Charades
• Team of 3 members.
• Multiple teams are allowed from a participating institution.
• There will be a preliminary round to short list teams.
• The shortlisted teams will qualify for the finals which will have multiple rounds
• Date: February 07 | Time: 3 pm Onwards
• Venue: Room 904, Audi Block
Debate
• Individual event.
• Multiple entries allowed from the participating institution.
• The participant can choose to speak “for” or “against” A topic.
• The event will have a Preliminary and Final rounds.
• Topics to be announced a day prior to the event.
• Judges’ decision will be final.
• Date: February 08 | Time: 12 pm to 2 pm
• Venue: Room 904, Audi Block.
JAM
• Individual event.
• Multiple participants are allowed from a participating institution.
• Rules are strictly subject to the JAM Master’s discretion, save a few basic tenets.
• Jammers must be clear and fluent.
• Use of Queen's English is a must.
• Each round of the elimination will have 6-8 participants,
and will be subject to the JAM Master’s discretion.
• Multiple rounds will be held in the finals. Some standard ones are dry,
disconnect, and story-telling.
• Participants will be judged on spontaneity, wit, humor, grammar and other
miscellaneous criteria
• No vulgarity of any sort shall be entertained.
• Rules are strictly subject to the JAM Master’s discretion.
• Date: February 08 | Time: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
• Venue: Room 906, Audi Block.
Extempore
• Individual event.
• Multiple participants are allowed from a participating institution.
• This is an impromptu speaking competition.
• Participants will be given a minute to prepare.
• Participants will be judged on the basis of both content and oration.
• There will be multiple rounds with elimination at the each round
• Topics will be given at the venue as per the participant’s slot number.
• Date: February 08 | Time : 2 pm to 5 pm
• Venue: Room 905, Audi Block.
Air Crash
• Individual event.
• Multiple participants are allowed from a participating institution.
• This is an informal speaking event, where participants are on an aircraft are to
assigned a personality or fictional character to convince the captain of the
aircraft give him/her the only parachute on board.
• Participants will be judged on spontaneity, humor, wit and their ability
to think on their feet.
• No vulgarity of any sort shall be entertained.
• Date:February 07 | Time: 3 pm Onwards
• Venue: Room 905, Audi Block.
Pot Pourri
• Team of 3 members.
• Multiple teams are allowed from a participating institution.
• The event will consist of a mix of literary events like brain teasers, 20Q,
Pictionary, and What’s the Good Word, etc. based on judge's discretion.
• There will be a written preliminary round, followed by finals.
• Date: February 08 | Time: 12 Noon
• Venue: Room 903, Audi Block.
Turncoat
• Individual event.
• The event requires the participant to speak for and against the given topic,
as and when the judge says to switch.
• Date: February 07 | Time: 4 pm to 6 pm
• Venue: Room 903, Audi Block.
